GoodSurf faced a common but critical challenge in the adventure sports industry: how to manage liability waivers efficiently without disrupting the guest experience. While SevenRooms provided an excellent booking platform for their surfing sessions, there was no straightforward way to collect and manage digital waivers as part of the booking process. Additionally, SevenRooms' standard functionality only stored information about the booking party leader, creating a gap in guest data management and liability coverage.
The venue needed a solution that would maintain their premium guest experience while ensuring complete liability coverage for all participants. The alternatives - using disconnected waiver systems or reverting to paper waivers - would have created friction in the guest journey and operational inefficiencies.
We approached the GoodSurf project with a clear goal: create a seamless booking and waiver process that would feel like a single, cohesive system to guests while giving staff the tools they need to manage sessions safely and efficiently.
Building on our existing waiver system infrastructure, we developed a deep integration with SevenRooms that enhances its native capabilities. When a guest books a surfing session through SevenRooms, our system automatically initiates a sophisticated waiver collection process that maintains the premium feel of the GoodSurf brand.
The integration creates a smooth flow where party leaders verify their identity through SMS authentication and can easily share waiver requirements with their group. As each guest completes their waiver, our system automatically creates individual guest profiles in SevenRooms and tags them appropriately. This solves the critical challenge of maintaining complete guest records while ensuring all necessary waivers are in place before sessions begin.
For the GoodSurf team, what was once a potential operational headache has been transformed into a streamlined process. Staff can use their familiar SevenRooms interface to see not just bookings, but complete waiver status for every participant. The system automatically flags when all waivers are complete, eliminating the need to chase paperwork or manage separate systems.
